A different Christmas

Yesterday, Sunday, December 21, Centro de Vida Cristiana Málaga with an attendance of 364 people in our 3 services: in the morning, in the afternoon and online we enjoyed a very special day in which we celebrated the birth of Our Lord Jesus.

We begin this time with our customary time of prayer where we thanked God for all that he has done, does and will do in our lives; for taking care of him and staying by our side in these difficult times. We cry out to God for the sick due to lack of work, among others.

Then we had a time of seeking God through a time of praise and adoration in which, without a doubt, the presence of God was present. Next, our children with their characteristic enthusiasm and affection delighted us with poetry and songs in which they told us the importance of living this Christmas, knowing that the important thing is the arrival of Our Savior.

Culminating this time with a message that our pastor, David Castillo shared with us, making us reflect that it has been a hard year, which has caused many people to have their hearts hurt. We remember, according to the Bible, how was the arrival of Jesus to this world. The true meaning of Christmas according to 2 Corinthians 5: 17-2 the celebration of a historical moment where God came to Earth through Jesus, who was going to die so that we could have a relationship with God. God's plan with us, out of his deep love for us. Jesus is the best gift for our lives. Through two principles, he helped us understand the true meaning of Christmas:

Christmas is reconciling. Reconcile when two people become friends again, settle their accounts, stop having distance between them. A tremendous plan of God for us to become friends of God again. Forgetting our sins, he sent his son, putting EVERYTHING on his part so that, although we do not deserve it, Jesus would die for us and thus be friends of God again. Accepting his rule and his Kingdom in our lives, receiving his gift: eternal life.

There is no Christmas without understanding the concept of INCARNATION. As it says in Philippians 2: 5 God was born in a manger. Jesus, the baby, He was God. God became incarnate, He became flesh because He wanted to reconcile our lives with Him. That baby gave his life for the sins of humanity past, present and future.

We need to believe that that baby that was born was God himself, made flesh that died for me and when we believe in this, we begin to be a new creature, old things pass away and all are made new. As a result of an intimate relationship with God, our lives are transformed. The story of Christmas is that a God above, came to Earth so that we can go to Heaven, believing that this baby is God and that he came with the plan to reconcile us with God. Merry Christmas to all!
